James Armstrong Richardson International Airport also known as Winnipeg International Airport, welcomes the first official visitors Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh, to pass through its new terminal, scheduled to arrive at 12:20 p.m. today that is on 3rd of July.
The airport which is under construction process since 2007 is not ready for the public to visit, but exceptions are being made by the officials for the royal visitors, this Saturday.
An event will also be held at the airport where the Queen will sign a letter to Manitoba youth which will be entered into a time capsule.
The public will get to greet her, later in the day, when the royal couple head towards The Forks to visit the Museum of Human rights. The Queen is also scheduled to unveil her statue at the Government House and will be renaming the gardens.
There will be a speech given by the Queen in a concert at the Forks which also features the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Chantal Kreviazuk, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and others.
Cadets, dignitaries and war veterans will also be on hand for the royal visit.
